Privacy Policy — TMD Books Connector
Effective June 30, 2026 · Last updated June 30, 2026
TMD Books Connector (“the App”) is a private, internal software tool built and operated by The Muses Digital, Inc. (“we,” “us,” “The Muses Digital”). The App connects to QuickBooks Online through Intuit’s authorized API to keep The Muses Digital’s own accounting records accurate. This policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is used, and how it is protected.
The App is not a consumer product and is not distributed to third parties. It is used solely by The Muses Digital to manage the books of The Muses Digital.
What the App accesses
When authorized, the App accesses the following from The Muses Digital’s own QuickBooks Online company through Intuit’s Accounting API:
- Financial transactions, accounts, and the chart of accounts.
- Profit and loss, balance sheet, and trial balance reports.
- Company profile information needed to post and reconcile transactions.
The App also handles OAuth credentials (client ID, client secret, refresh token, and company/realm ID) required to authenticate to the API.
The App does not access QuickBooks Payments data, does not process payments, and does not request the payments scope during authorization.
How the data is used
Data is used for one purpose: maintaining The Muses Digital’s own bookkeeping. Specifically, to categorize and post transactions, generate financial statements, reconcile against bank records, and produce internal tax-preparation schedules. The App does not use the data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to The Muses Digital’s own accounting.
How the data is stored and secured
- OAuth credentials are stored in a password manager (1Password) and are never written to plain-text files or committed to version control.
- Financial data is processed on The Muses Digital’s own equipment and stored in a private, encrypted, backed-up location. It is not hosted on a public server.
- Access is limited to the owner of The Muses Digital.
How the data is shared
The data is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties. It is exchanged only between The Muses Digital’s own systems and Intuit’s QuickBooks Online API under Intuit’s terms. The App uses no third-party analytics, advertising, or data-broker services.
Data retention
Financial records are retained as long as required for accounting and tax purposes (at least seven years, consistent with IRS recordkeeping guidance) and are then archived or deleted at The Muses Digital’s discretion. OAuth tokens are retained only while the connection is active and are revoked when the App is disconnected.
Your choices
Because the App serves only The Muses Digital’s own company, the data subject and the operator are the same party. The connection can be revoked at any time from within QuickBooks Online, which immediately ends the App’s access.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the App changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
